Bitcoin wallet taking days to sync

I only need to use the wallet once a day, but every time I open it I need to download thousands of new blocks and bitcoin wallet taking days to sync takes hours to synchronize. I opened the wallet today at 9.
Is it meant to be so slow? Am I doing something wrong? It's so slow that sometimes, by the time I reach the estimated number of blocks needed, the blockchain has advanced by another blocks and I end up having to download those too. July edited July Yesterday my wallet was synchronized at approximately 4, blocks. This morning the blockchain has moved forward to 4,, thus requiring another few hours to download. Is there any way of bitcoin wallet taking days to sync the wallet without downloading all these new blocks, or downloading them faster?
My Bitcoin wallet Electrum doesn't need to download the entire BTC blockchain to load, and my other wallets I have seven, for seven different altcoins, whose combined blockchain size is far larger than Ethereum's only take a few minutes to load, so what makes Mist different?
The wallet just finished downloading up to 4, blocks. Now the blockchain has advanced and I need to download another blocks. How are people expected to use Ethereum bitcoin wallet taking days to sync every time they open their wallet, they can only access bitcoin wallet taking days to sync Eth after 6 hours of downloading?
This is the dumbest wallet I have ever encountered. Yeah I'm having a similar problem. I really don't understand how Ethereum has become the second most popular crypto currency when they don't even have a functional wallet system.
For me, Everytime I start Mist the chain data starts download from Zero again, and it won't let me download the data because Geth --RPC will hang mid download thus required me to restart mist and geth again and then im back to zero. MIST is just unusable in the meantime, though a few months ago it was not that big of a problem.
But now it just doesn't sync anymore cause it downloads millions and billions of "Chain Structure" whatever this is. I'm also having this same issue. Am having that problem also Dec 10th Sign In or Register to comment.
I have seen other posts in reddit where users experienced slow sync times. I am using windows 10 and version 3. My download speed is 4. I have adjusted clock to time. I am still not able to sync and it has been hours, probably at least 10 and I am only halfway through. Lastly, I tried to open an account when not in sync.
I was able to enter and confirm password, however no new account showed. I am using Windows 10, Mist Wallet 0. I had incredibly slow syncing of the blockchain, even with 25 peers and was actually having to to quit and restart Mist just to download another few bitcoin wallet taking days to sync. I followed numerous different recommendations, however none worked until I deleted the blockchain data using geth and kicked the whole process off again.
Rather than using the Mist sync process, I removed the chaindata and then ran geth --fast: This above is also described here. The download has now got to blockin 30 minutes which had previously taken 3 days! If you are on a Mac, you would do this….
