Metroid fusion sector 3 security robot patrol

The colors of the suit, however, are very different from that of other suits, as well as the appearance. The Fusion Suit is a blend of blue and yellow colors. Blue makes up most of the suit and is basically a filler for where the yellow doesn't cover. The yellow color covers only specific spots, mostly muscles on Samus' body, her abdomen, elbows and kneecaps.

This strong mix of colors fits the hunter perfectly. The helmet is a light shade of red, with the visor a light blue. The arm cannon is a deep green. On the arms of the suit are blue spikes, symbolizing the wild instinct of the Metroid. Later in Metroid Fusion, the suit changes into a Varia-like model that helps her in high temperature areas.

Appearances The Fusion Suit appears in only two games: Metroid Fusion and Metroid Prime. The Fusion Suit is used from the beggining of Metroid Fusion until she finds a suit upgrade. However, the game does not change in terms of story or gameplay. It merely shows that she is wearing the Fusion Suit. Conclusion The Fusion Suit, like the rest of Samus suits, is a vital part of her life.

Though it may not be as strong as the other suits in her inventory, the Fusion Suit has helped her through dangerous moments. Who knows, maybe we'll see it again in another Metroid game? Echoes The light Suit is sort of like a fusion of both Chozo and Luminoth battlesuit technology.

While worn, Samus becomes imperveous to damage from the atmosphere and water of Dark Aether. Samus's shields also recieve a boost as she wears it, so the suit's name could have originated both from it's color and because Samus recievs light, or less damage while wearing the suit.

The four orbs on the chest of the Light Suit appear to be the sorce of it's powers, as they light up as Samus enters the Dark World. This suit is characterized by its unique white shiny color on its surface. The light suit also allows Samus to travel along rays of light, hence the name.

As Samus puts the suit on, her Grapple Beam resizes to a much smaller state and the Gravity Boost seems to completely dissapear, even though it's still usable. This suit is supported by an entire planetary energy, the same amount of energy Samus managed to take back from the three teomples on Dark Aether. After fulfilling her mission, Samus has to leave the Light Suit behind as it was needed to support Light Aether once again.

It is considered to be the most powerful suit Samus has ever weared. Suit is a fusion of GF and Chozo technology. It was given to Samus when she was in a Phazon coma that lasted for one month. Suit is probably the only suit in the game if you don't count the Hazard Shield as a suit. Suit is a silver-tealish color on the shoulder pads, the abdomen areas, the thigh areas, and the foot areas.

It is a faded orange on anywhere else. As Samus becomes more corrupted, the P. Suit becomes more blue, and Samus' face starts to change. A notable change is the Phazon vein located where Samus' nose usually is.

When equipped with the Hazard Shield, the orange areas become purple-pink, similar to that of the Gravity Suit. Suit can be described as the Phazon Suit, exchanging cosmetics for usefulness. Suit allows Samus to take advantage of her corruption and enter Hyper-mode, a technique which was first seen in the original Prime.

Hyper-mode plays a very important role. When in Hyper-mode, the visor turns all surroundings gray, with the exception of creatures, and the Energy bar is replaced with a Phazon Bar. During her mission on Bryyo, Samus suddenly enters corrupted Hyper-mode. There are only two ways to get out of Corrupted Hyper-mode: Drain all phazon or keep using Hyper-mode until the safety feature kicks in.

Corrupted Hyper-mode triggers in 10 seconds prior to entering Hyper-mode. The safety feature kicks in 15 seconds after that. An alarm will indicate that the safety feature is about to kick in. If Samus lets the Phazon overload, she will die of terminal corruption and become Dark Samus. Hyper-mode is a very important element in MP3: It is mandatory against the Leviathan bosses, as they are needed to overload and destroy them.

After these bosses are destroyed, Samus receives an item upgrade designed to work with Hyper-mode explained later and goes through a sequence that follows like this: Samus tests out her new items against objects that suddenly appear.

You must push the A button to vent the Phazon and destroy the core. On Phaaze, you permanently enter Hyper-mode. This allows you to use your Phazon weapons without using an Energy Tank and still allows use of visors, however, if you let the yellow bar fill up, you will die. There are 4 Phazon items in Corruption, in the order you get them: This attack is used in Morph Ball form.

It fires Phazon bolts that lock-on to anything it touches, similar to the Wave Buster in Prime 1. Phazon is constantly drained while used. The Hyper Missile is nothing more than a Super Missile, except it doesn't need to charge up and only needs 1 missile to fire. It drains a large portion of the Phazon tank. This upgrade enhances the Grapple Beam with Phazon, and can used to overload or siphon energy from Phazon impediments and increase effectiveness when used in combat.

Metroids engulf living crea-tures and absorb their energy. They are very intelligent and quick to reproduce. However, the Chozo stepped in to save the planet, and created Metroids.

As Samus went further into her mission the Metroids continued to evolve. Samus eventually makes her way into the Metroid nest at the center of the planet, destroying several Metroids before engaging in a final battle with the Metroid Queen. Once she defeats the queen, an egg hatches and a Metroid come out from it. The Larva took to Samus as though she were its mother, and the bounty hunter could not bring herself to destroy it.

In the game "Super Metroid" , the metroid larva that Samus brought to the Federation was studied and it was found that the Metroids' potential as life saving creatures was as great as their destructive powers. The Space Pirates then took the Larva back to their base on Zebes and used beta rays to make to multiply the Metroid into a new army of feral larva Metroids.

While they could leech life, they were weak and could not latch onto their prey. At the end of the game, the Metroid larva sacrificed itself to save Samus, causing the Metroid species to be extinct.

Originally discovered by the Galactic Federation on SR and stolen by the Space Pirates that were sent to their deep underground base on Zebes which they were later transported to Tallon IV to use for the Space Pirates' Phazon experiments ; and while the remaining Metroids were sent to Aether, some of them got possessed by the Ing, which they became Dark Tallon Metroids , the Metroids were created by the Chozo and were sent to SR to wipe out the X-Parasites which their original purpose was to be predators of the X , Metroids meaning "Ultimate Warrior" in Chozo language according to the Metroid Fusion manual feed on the life energy of whatever it is they get their claws on, and if they absorb enough energy, they grow bigger in the process, and sometimes evolve after doing so, and they normally asexually reproduce by dividing when exposed to Beta Rays, as stated in the Metroid II: Return Of Samus manual.

In terms of physical appearance, Metroids are bug-like creatures with a green-ish out casing, several red internal nuclei, and claws located beneath the nuclei, and they can defy gravity by using kinetic energy that they store inside their bodies.

This explains how they always manage to float where-ever they please. A Metroid's evolution is however, delayed and altered when exposed to Phazon energy as is their life cycle. Not too long after that however, Samus was sent to SR by the Galactic Federation to wipe out every last Metroid on the planet, because they felt that the Metroid species had become too much of a threat after seeing what the Space Pirates did with them. In the end, after Samus destroyed the Queen Metroid supposedly an evolved form of the Omega Metroid of some sort , there was but one newborn Metroid hatchling remaining, and since Samus was the first thing that the Metroid hatchling saw after the Queen Metroid was defeated, it thought that Samus was its mother.

Out of compassion, Samus took the last remaining Metroid with her, and transported it to the Galactic Federation for them to study it. It wasn't too long after that though that Ridley broke in and stole the last remaining Metroid, which he took it with him to Zebes and all the way down to Norfair Ridley's original home region. This was when and where Super Metroid took place, but in the end, the last remaining Metroid which the Metroids that Samus had encountered in Tourian before reaching the Mother Brain were just Metroid clones that the Mother Brain had created ; before stolen by the Space Pirates, the Mother Brain was originally created to help produce more Metroids, which the Space Pirates later used against Samus was destroyed by the Mother Brain when it risked its life to save Samus.

It was thought that the Metroids were extinct after that. But apparently, it was revealed later in Metroid Fusion that the Galactic Federation had created a Metroid Breeding Program, which they used the DNA of the last surviving Metroid from SR to clone other Metroids in order to use them for their own design, whatever that was.

Not too long after Samus discovered that program's existence however, one of the SA-X an X-Parasite clone of Samus Aran broke in and destroyed the place. Apparently, the only Metroid that was left after the breeding program was destroyed was this one Omega Metroid, which confronted Samus at the end of Metroid Fusion.

It is currently unknown on if or how the Metroid species will ever return, but after the events of Metroid fusion, the Metroid species seem to be completely extinct Normal Metroids and Tallon Metroids are basically the same, except that Tallon Metroids are brought from the planet known as Tallon IV by Space Pirates and mutated with Phazon ever since they were borned. Tallon Metroids are also a bit smaller than the Normal Zebes Metroids.

Other than their main size, name, and main color Zebes Metroids are mainly green while Tallon Metroids are mainly red , they are very similar. Tallon Metroids are easily terminated by stunning them with darkness then shooting them with missiles. Tallon Metroids that are then corrupted by the Ing are known as Dark Tallon Metroids, and are generally tougher than normal Tallon Metroids.

They are Metroids posessed by darkness Who turn out to be some of the strongest foe in its family tree. Though they can be frozen like standard Tallon Metroids, their dark energy makes it much more difficult to freeze them effectively. Just like most creatures currupted by the Ing, the Tallon Metroid's appearance changes drastically.

After a larval Metroid has hatched and grown into a full-grown Metroid, it will eventually metamorphose into the next stage of its evolution- the Alpha Metroid.

Nearly twice as big as its previous from, the mandibles that were present since first hatching have moved from underneath of the Metroid to its mouth, or what will later become its mouth. What can be compared to legs first form in this stage, although they serve little purpose until the Metroid has reached its Zeta evolution.

The previously vulnerable Metroid also garners a beginning shell, which fully develops throughout its metamorphoses. The membrane that protects the Metroids iconic nuclei is moved the belly, and the number of nuclei the Metroid has is decreased, possibly hinting at a brain being developed for higher thought. The Return of Samus" , and, to a lesser extent, again in Metroid Fusion, just before she destroys the hidden section of the BSL where the Metroid breeding program is being kept secret.

In Metroid II, aside from the Metroids encountered very late in the game, Alpha Metroids are the easiest Metroids to kill, dying when they have been hit by five missiles. The once fangs of the Metroid have also undertaken a transformation, elongating and strengthening to form tusks, used to spear their prey. Also, a new tusk begins development in this stage, located on the top of the newly formed shell. It is also used to gut its prey, but can also be used for more practical uses, such as shifting objects in its path.

What now exists of the Metroid resembles some sort of bipedal mammal or dinosaur, like a raptor. As the most versatile and mobile of the Metroid evolutions, the Zeta Metroid has now an identifying pair of arms and legs. One would imagine them to be used also for means to attack with mighty kicks, also with claws at the feet.

The Zeta Metroid, also like some of it's predecessors, has a hard carapace to protect itself. Still just as strong and impregnable as ever, maybe ever more so.

The Zeta Metroid stands at a height of nearly ten feet. Its head has developed to a more ocular shape, allowing it to perform more complex actions within its brain. With the ovular shape, its eye clusters are now on the sides of its head, allowing it to see in more directions at once. With the increased brain functioning, it has also been able to develop a rustic type of language, consisting of various types of barks and howls.

The Zeta also has a developed maw, consisting of a jaw and two rows of teeth, averaging inches in length. The Zeta has also been noted to give a jaw crushing capacity of 1-ton per square inch. The most terrifying thing about the Zeta is the fact that it can generate small bursts of heat out towards its prey. Also remarked is the ability for the Zeta to shoot small burst of air from its carapace shell, giving it the ability to levitate like the other previous versions of Metroid.

The Zeta is the final stage in Metroid evolution. Special, unknown selection is made upon a Zeta undergoing another evolutionary change into that of the Omega Metroid. Resembling an 18 foot tall, pound T-Rex, it is a fearsome opponent. Not only has it grown in size and strength, it can fully evolved. Its two quad-eye clusters now enable it to see in pure darkness, enabling it to mercilessly prey on creatures within a multitude of areas.

Its limbs have enlarged since the last stage in its evolution, as the arms now reach over 8 feet long, thick and well muscled, and armed with massive claws. Its limbs are no longer its sole means of attacks; its thick tail can crush armored prey with a single strike! The Metroids jaw bones have increased in power, so it is now capable of crushing heavily carapaced creatures with little trouble. The carapace of the Omega has also thickened by several inches, in order to better protect its softer flesh and its skull.

Its brain has further developed, increasing its already formidable intelligence. In addition to the strengthening of the carapace, more pores have formed, through which the Omega Metroid can generate powerful bursts of air at an astonishing rate, allowing the Omega Metroid to retain the Metroids ability to fly. The Omega uses this ability to its advantage but surprising prey with fearsome aerial assaults.

The Omega Metroid was not considered to be a incredible threat to Samus until the events that took place on the B. L, where the Galactic Federation were secretly breeding Metroids from a cell culture from the last Metroid. They Federation managed to surpass the Space Pirates, and managed to raise an Omega Metroid within days of the hatching of a larva. However, the two fused, and managed to overpower the Omega Metroid, thus slewing the last of the Omega Metroids, and the species as a whole.

The Return of Samus. The Metroid Queen is the last stage of the Metroid metamorphosis, and it has a tough shell, effective at keeping it safe from most of Samus arsenal, that encompasses its entirety, and a neck that it can extend at will. The Metroid Queen walks on four legs, unlike most other stages of the Metroid evolution. The Metroid Queen is the leader of the Metroids on the Planet SR, and is also the final Metroid that Samus must defeat on her mission to rid the entire galaxy of Metroids.

After defeating the Metroid Queen, the sole remaining Metroid egg hatched and, because Samus had killed all of the other Metroids, took Samus to be its mother, later saving her life twice-over. It is short, but since it was only in one game, there's not too much info on it.

The Hunter Metroids are probably some of the creepiest creatures in the series. They are mutant strains of the typical Tallon Metroid. Let's first look at the Hunter Metroid: Oddly enough, the concept art of the Fission Metroids show a slightly different shade of Hunter Metroid.

Although in the game itself, they look almost exactly the same as Tallon Metroids. Wait, they gain tentacles at low phazon radiation but stay perfectly normal when induced to high levels of radiation? The weird thing about these creatures is that they split thus the name of "fission", meaning literally to "divide into two or more equal parts" into two smaller Metroids when "killed".

Due to the chaotic nature of phazon, these split Metroids are immune to random types of elemental energy. But the effects are totally random. So for all you know, one of the split parts could be immune to ice and the other immune to fire. It is unclear whether the Pirates experimented with these kinds of Metroids, but it is clear that the Metroids only got in the crater because of the Space Pirates.

The Fission Metroids don't have "eggs" per se; they instead have bloated phazon pods, which occasionally spew out the mutants. Fission Metroids attack strategies are very similar to a normal Metroid's a.

But it also has gained a complete cold resistance, making cold damage have no extra freezing effect whatsoever. It just does normal damage. They also can maneuver much better then their cousins when trying to grab people. They are also slightly faster. Fission Metroids in your only encounter with them in the impact crater, will literally try to attack you from below or above. They either keep their distance, waiting for an opportunity to grab and strike, or try to bump you from below or above when you jump to another platform.

For example, you try to jump to the next platform. In mid-jump, the metroid bonks you on the head and you are sent careening down into red phazon. Power bombs kill them without them splitting. This is the best tactic, so save those suckers! Thus proving a deeper relationship with Metroids. Metroid Prime 2D Shell. Evil lurks in the planet of Tallon IV.

Can Samus Aran stop this dark menace? What is this evil anyways? Elementary, my friends, elementary. Metroid Prime is an insectoid-like organism that has some genetic ties to the Metroid species. Metroids are parasitic creatures from the planet SR They feed on the life of their prey to survive. However, unlike parasites on Earth, Metroids suck the energy out of their victim until it dies. Real parasites keep the organism alive for as long as possible.

Metroids suck on their victims to kill. Metroids are floating aliens that have four, spike-like mandibles and a gelatinous body. The nuclei inside of the Metroid is visible and resembles a raspberry. Metroid Prime, however, looks almost nothing like that. Metroid Prime's body is more insect-like than a normal Metroid's. It has legs that look like a spider's and has a body that has many ridges and an ugly face.

Its body is all black and the ridges on its body are silver. However, they change color due to previous events with the Space Pirates. The space rock contained Metroid Prime and a deadly substance known as Phazon. When the Space Pirates discovered it, they immediatly did research on it. They named it Metroid Prime because its genetic structure was so similar to that of a Metroid's and that it was a Prime species of organism.

It was a highly advanced species that was intelligent, powerful and wise. It infused Space Pirate technology and began to use it for defense. That is why it glows different colors in some periods of time. However, it was locked into the crater that the meteor established. It was then locked and could only be opened when several articfacts were found.

Samus Aran had to find the artifacts to find and destroy Metroid Prime. In the battle against Samus Aran, Metroid Prime showed two things. Metroid Prime does have two forms. The first form is an insect like creature with legs that resemble a spider's, a black body and an ugly face. It acted alot like an insect. However, it didn't attack and defend like one. It used the tech it absorbed from the Space Pirates.

It used projectiles, beams and orb attacks to try and kill Samus Aran. It also used a ramming technique after it took a certain amount of damage from Samus. Samus had to roll under Metroid Prime to dodge the attack.

The second form, however, was way different than the first form. This form resembled an octopus. It had four tentacles and a human-like face. It also had some Metroid traits mixed in with it. Its body was gelatinous, like a Metroid's is. However, unlike the Metroid, Metroid Prime's 2nd form, or the Metroid Prime essence, can only be hurt by one beam.

The ice beam does not affect Prime. That is the only weapon that can hurt Prime. Prime uses a multitude of attacks, ranging from shock waves to creating Metroids to do the dirty work for her. She also has the uncanny ability to turn invisible. Throughout the battle between Prime and Aran, Prime turns invisible. It isn't certain how the organism does this, but its astounding that it can do it nonetheless.

Metroid Prime has appeared in only one game, Metroid Prime, however, its name has been on 4 games. It will also been in a game for the Nintendo Wii Metroid Prime 3: But, though Metroid Prime itself may not appear in any other games, another form has. When Prime was about to explode, it grabbed onto Samus to try and kill her in the process. However, it only got her Phazon Suit upgrade, leaving her with only the Gravity Suit. Prime then later on morphed into a new organism by combining itself with the Phazon Suit.

It created Dark Samus. However, I won't go into detail about that. Overall, Metroid Prime was a feared boss. Who knows, maybe we'll see Metroid Prime once again in its insect form or its essence form.

Only the future holds the answer. However, after absorbing the suit, Metroid Prime expanded to enormous proportions, and the entire Impact Crater collapsed. Deep within the crumbling remains of the crater, a black and red hand reached out of a large, pulsating glob of Phazon, and an eye emerged from the back of the hand. This is the presumed to be the birth of Dark Samus. Dark Samus as seen in Metroid Prime 2: After Dark Samus had grown accustomed to its new body, it began to seek out new sources of its energy source, Phazon.

Eventually, it stumbled upon the Space Pirates operations, and wreaked havoc on their plans. Not only did it present a horrible threat to personnel, it began freeing captive Metroids, and stole their accumulated Phazon supplies. Her actions resulted in her classification as a Platinum AAA threat. At first, the Space Pirates assumed Samus and Dark Samus were the same, but after a short confrontation between the two, it was learned otherwise.

The Space Pirates, desperate for salvation, planned on forming an alliance with Dark Samus, but it is unsure if there is indeed an alliance. Dark Samus confronted her light counterpart several times, and lost in all battles she participated in. However, her possession of the Phazon suit, as well as her natural Phazon abilities, made her a formidable opponent. She also possesses a deadly Phazon beam, which can take the form of a thin laser up to a wide beam.

She can also unleash Phazon powered missiles with a homing effect. Other abilities include levitation, high levels of agility and endurance, and her control over Phazon enables her to use Phazon as various defensive structures, or to use it to crash into foes like a meteor.

She can also use the Morphball ability, and her Boost Ball attack is devastatingly powerful. Finally, one of her most potent abilities is her capability to transmute her body into various Phazon particles, which she can instantaneously turn into or reform into her normal form.

Sometime between Samus' mission on Aether and her new experience on board the GFS Olympucs, the Space Pirates briefly returned to Aether to collect what little remaining Phazon they could, just before the Galactic Federation came and took most of Aether's Phazon. In the containment pods of Phazon the Space Pirates used, Dark Samus exploded out of one of them, and presumably influenced the Pirates to bend to her will. She slowly took over the rest of the Space Pirates on the Pirate Homeworld, giving them Phazon powers they normally couldn't utilize.

Dark Samus as seen in Metroid Prime 3: The four assigned hunters - Rundas, Ghor, Gandrayda, and Samus - were to activate a cannon that could destroy any orbiting ships, including incoming Leviathans. Before they could do this however, Dark Samus attacked them and quite easily disposed of each of them, knocking them out and making their bodies self-produce Phazon.

As a result of this internal Phazon, Dark Samus easily took over the minds of the other 3 hunters, which apparently weren't as strong and resistant to Phazon as Aran's mind most likely because they hadn't experienced Phazon like Samus did in 2 previous missions. Aran had to kill each of the corrupted hunters, and Dark Samus appeared as a wispy black cloud with her face at the front, absorbing the essence of the 3 other hunters she corrupted, which Aran apparently was unable to prevent.

After Samus finally finished venturing through Phaaze, the planet that's the source of all Phazon, she confronted Dark Samus, who sprung up from a floor in the deepest cavern of the planet. After being injured considerably and overloaded with Hyper Mode attacks making her essence more unstable , Dark Samus called forth the stolen Aurora Unit that was already merged with Phaaze's core, and fused with it to make it a machine focused on only destroying Samus.

She destroyed the AU though, and presumably finished off Dark Samus because all Phazon including that which Dark Samus is made of was extinguished from the universe.

Unlike the Phazon Suit Metroid Prime absorbed from Samus that became very mutated and organic in design at first as shown in its appearances on Aether, with its feet having sharp toes instead of boots like Samus has , the Dark Samus that's seen after the Aether incident seems to have a suit or rather, body that's much more fabricated looking, with the boots it didn't have before, along with the rest of its form being more technology-like as Samus' Chozo-designed suit has always appeared , but at the same time, has that same old Phazon vibe, and not just with the way it looks.

How Dark Samus went from being composed of a transparent suit with its internal structure and physical differences showing such as the three-eyed skull to a being whose structure is much more technological is currently unknown, but it may have gained some armor the Space Pirates had and manipulated it through Phazon during the time Dark Samus inspired a small group of remaining Pirates whose minds she warped.

Along with the Phazon shields Dark Samus generates upon close contact with targets, as well as the Phazon shattershot variant of the Power Beam both inherited from its battles on Aether , Dark Samus now has the ability to fire concussive blasts of Phazon that home in on targets, produce deadly ground quakes like Metroid Prime's 2nd form could, and create 'echoes' of herself to aid in battle that act as distractions and increased firepower, which should be destroyed immediately before focusing on the real Dark Samus.

Also, when being on her homeworld known as Phaaze, she's able to absorb energy from the planet to replenish her own, making Phaaze not only a home team advantage for Dark Samus, but a perfect staging ground for her as well. A hopping metroid is another phazon mutation that has altered the metroid's biology to a point where it is barely recognizable. Hoppers are typically connected to phazon growths in the environment, and can spawn from phazon pools. Destroying all of the hopers will cause the growth to become unstable and destroy it.

Hopping metroids are named for their newly developed legs. These have allowed the metroid to jump large heights and distances. Its armor, most likely phazite, allows it to withstand beam attacks more than most metroids, and seems to have corrected its inherited weakness to cold. To elevate the threat these metroids possess, they can enter a hypermode state, inwhich they become extremely durable create a large shockwave when jumping.

Hopper metroids live in hive networks. Miniroids are metroids that recieve intense phazon mutation prior to hatching. Instead of hatching as metroid larvae, they emerge from the egg in a weaker form, similar in appearance to a hunter metroid sans-fangs and tendrils.

They have no fangs or armor, and have only a single internal nucleus. It is likely that these metroids do not possess any energy absorbtion abilities at all. The only threat the miniroid serves is the mutation that occurs upon contact with phazon, which will rapidly age the miniroid into a phazon metroid. The metroid hatcher is a metroid that has been-you guessed it-heavily mutated by phazon. A metroid hatcher is almost completely covered by a large plate of phazite. The only vulnerable points are the tentacles and the membrane, which is located at the back of the phazite plating.

The metroid hatcher is very agressive, furiously attacking anything nearby by spinning at high velocity. The tentacles are extremely sensitive, and when attacked, they will retract. This is when the metroid will display its unique ability. The metroid hatcher has somehow gained the ability to spawn phazon metroids. It releases them by expelling a miniroid and a phazon vapor from its mouth, mutating the miniroid upon birth. Targeting the mouth will stun the hatcher, allowing its tentacles to be forcibly removed.

By using an advanced Targeting system and a high frequency beam, it is possible to target the metroid's nerve senter directly through the phazite plates, neutralizing this creature easily, despite the high threat level. Well, they have already been mentioned in the mains posts but it doesn't hurt to say so once more.

I obviously don't need to say why on this Game s - Metroid, Metroid: Zero Mission, Super Metroid. The Mother Brain is a major, if not most powerful villain in the history of Metroid. She acts as the main core and cyborg computer of the Space Pirates.

As stated in the Metroid official manga, the Mother Brain was originally created by the Chozo race in Zebes and later reprogrammed when Ridley and the Space Pirates attacked the planet. The Mother Brain usually appears as a huge human brain with a big lidded eye, inside a glass tank connected to cables and surrounded by several powerful traps to destroy enemies who wish to harm her located in a pool of either lava or acid.

Mother Brain as seen in a cutscene from Metroid: It is stated in the Metroid: Mother Brain then kills the infant Metroid, leaving only Samus to battle. Once Samus defeats Mother Brain, a countdown starts, causing Samus to evacuate Zebes once again before it explodes with her on it just exactly as their previous encounter.

As leader of the Space Pirates, the Mother Brain is to fight Samus every time she reaches to her, mostly at the end of the game. Once Samus have taken care of her, the Mother Brain collapses activating a mechanism of self-destruction forcing Samus to make a rushing escape out of wherever the Tourian, the deepest area of Zebes where the Mother Brain lies. Even the common Space Pirate feels nervous when working with him, as he does not shun sacrificing replaceable warriors if needed, to take out any force standing in their way.

While he may simply appear to be a mindless monster, he's actually quite cunning and intelligent, a master military strategist, and is shown to be capable of human speech in the official e-manga and the Super Metroid comics. Official Artwork of Ridley as seen in Super Metroid. He tends to have considerable favor amongst High Command a mysterious figure mentioned numerous times in the Pirate Logs of the Prime games. Ridley's introduction to the series takes place on Samus' Earth colony, K-2L as shown in the Metroid e-manga , where he leads a massive raid to restock fuel, supplies, and plunder, and kills Samus' mother in the process.

Years later when returning to Zebes, by orders of High Command, he establishes a central command center beneath the planet's surface, known as Tourian. Ridley's forces annihilated the native Chozo Colony established on Zebes' surface before carrying out those orders. Until that time, Zebes was regarded as a low priority a class XIII Wanderer Planet by the Galactic Federation, but that was changed when word was spread that the Pirates had built a base of operations beneath the planet's surface, which potentially put the entire Spiral sector at risk of Pirate occupation.

The GF then sent its fleets into battle to remove this newfound threat. Ridley personally led many battles against the GF's forces over control of the planet, and destroyed everything the Federation Police had to throw at him. Sometime after those battles, Ridley left Zebes on his ship the Space Pirate Mother Ship to conduct with other, more personal matters, only to later receive a distress signal from Zebes and return to battle with Samus Aran, who was sent by the Federation to destroy Mother Brain.

Ridley's one of the few remaining Space Dragons commonly believed to be a native of Zebes left alive after a series of mass genocide programs carried out by the Galactic Federation, which in doing so, brought his species to the brink of extinction which may explain some of the wars he had with the GF, and not just over the control of Zebes. As a result, Ridley's the only member of his species that has ever been observed with record.

He usually appears as a pterodactyl-like dragon with lifeless looking eyes, and like the mythical creature, he's capable of breathing fire, or to be more accurate, plasma that's generated in a series of chambers inside his throat and head, exiting from his mouth at any possible target.

His plasma projection ability, along with his razor-sharp talons and extendable tail make it unnecessary for him to weild fabricated weapons like the kind of fire-arms that regular Pirates use, as he's basically a weapon himself.

Not only that, but he's capable of flying in outer space as well not just in the skies of some planet , and only prolonged attacks of concussive blasts can put a dent in Ridley's armor and pierce his skin. All other attacks are but harmless to him.

Meta-Ridley as seen in Metroid Prime. Its claw attack is much harder to avoid due to it being able to extend its mechanical arms, and like Meta-Ridley from Metroid Prime, Mecha Ridley is able to fire multiple missiles, and its only weak point is its chest. Regardless of those 2 similarities, Mecha Ridley and Meta Ridley are not to be confused with one another. And his other form, Ridley-X known as Neo Ridley to some others , is simply an X-Parasite mimicing him that takes a larger organic form than the original, and for reasons unknown, it's skin is blue rather than brown or red like it usually is , and has pink wings.

Neo Ridley's attack patterns are identical to his Super Metroid and Zero Mission counterparts, except throughout the battle with him in Fusion, his appearance keeps changing from an emaciated, skeletal form into a violent muscular form.

That's 7 out of 10 Metroid games, the majority. He's the only enemy in Metroid to ever make this many appearances, making him Samus' Bowser, so to speak.

After Meta Ridley's fall in the shaft of Generator C, he was revived and regenerated through Phazon exposure, ascending him to a whole new combat threat level. He retains the very durable, Phazon-enhanced armorskin and protective armored plating he had on Norion, but the chest injury he received on Tallon IV has not yet fully healed, his only weakness.

Afterwards, he generates Phazite armor, which can only be penetrated by the unique qualities of the X-Ray Visor and Nova Beam. With both parts of the Phazite armor destroyed, he flies constantly around the room to avoid his exposed weak point from getting targeted, which can only be overloaded with Phazon. Aside from the fire-balls, fire breath, and what not, Ridley's new attacks or patterns in his Omega form include using his fire breath and tail at the same time in a circular motion making it harder to dodge , along with the all powerful ground quake that most previously encountered enemies have inherited, as well as 2 energy balls that come out of his hands, which literally travel every direction when fired, as he launches the attack.

He also retains the classic ramming technique he had in his Meta form, except this time his wings tend to get more spread out when he attacks with it.

Geoform , code named Kraid, is one of the leaders in the Space Pirate army. Being one of the largest, intelligent beings in existence that roams the galaxy, he can easily strike fear in the hearts of other creatures just by appearing on the scene.

Although it is unknown where he's from, green reptilians of his caliber tend to evolve far faster than other species, thus developing in various forms and becoming gigantic in size. It is unknown how he does it, but apparently he is capable of having children, as hinted in Super Metroid while other fans refer to it as "Fake Kraid" , and it's assumed that Kraid prefers to keep his offspring as close as possible to him at all times, to prevent them from being caught in the line of battle.

Official Kraid artwork for Super Metroid. Kraid's densely scaled skin makes him impervious to pretty much any battlefield weapon out there. However, as his nasal cavity is too small to breathe through during battle, he has to open his mouth from time to time to catch some breath. When doing so, he leaves himself open to attack, which then he temporarily becomes vulnerable to Missile, Super Missile, and Charge Beam attacks when fired at him through the mouth.

When weakened enough, any concussive weapon can go through the roof of the mouth and hit his brain. Kraid usually tries to prevent this however, by keeping his claws in front of his mouth when having to breathe. His preferred methods of attack are shooting dagger-like spikes out of its belly, and firing nail projectiles from his fingertips. As hinted by his size, Kraid is very heavy.

He weighs over tons, and is approximately over 65 feet tall. Kraid's original design for Metroid Prime, unfortunately, he never made it. He was also supposed to appear in the first Metroid Prime that takes place after Metroid I, but before Super Metroid , but time restraints prevented him from appearing in the final version of the game. Regardless, he's still referenced in the game, as one of the tanks in the Space Pirate's base suggests that one of the Pirate's experiments was to recreate the creature, along with body parts in the vat that appear to be Kraid's.

One distinctive trait about Kraid's appearance in Prime or rather, the 3-D concept art of it is his head, as it's covered up by a metal dome, or perhaps a helmet of some kind, which presumably, was supposed to help protect his mouth from concussive attacks.

The Omega Pirate, also known as the Elite Pirate Upsilon, is the biggest, strongest and smartest in all of the Elite Pirates and a foe whose power matches those of their leaders. The majority of Elite Pirates would either die or completely consumed by Phazon if implemented by masses of its substance, however, the Omega Pirate seems to have been a special occasion. This Elite Pirate managed to withstand the power of the Phazon which was beyond the control of any other Elite Pirate.

It was able to regenerate itself by absorbing even more Phazon on its surroundings. Through the process of its regeneration, the Omega Pirate was vulnerable to most attack, the only way to defeat the creature. However, once its regeneration is completed, the process of brining it back to its vulnerable form must be restarted from step one. The abominable Omega Pirate! Thanks to its huge size, the Omega Pirate was easily able carry many accessories such as retractable wrist bayonets, an energy deflection shield, and a much more powerful version of the Plasma Artillery Cannon, known as Plasma Incendiary Launchers, as well as a Wave Quake Generator which is faster and much more powerful then those carried by the ordinary Elite Pirates.

Once Samus has defeated the Omega Pirate, her Varia suit has a strange reaction to the Phazon that was inside the creature, turning it to a black and shinier suit known as the Phazon suit. This new suit keeps her from suffering damage from the blue phazon through out the whole place, however, not the orange phazon located at the impact crater.

During the first steps of "Project Helix", during their first attempts on creating "super" pirates, Phazon Elites were created. The Phazon Elites weren't as smart or as big as the professionally made Elite Pirates, however, they were unquestionably stronger.

Because of the low knowledge the Space Pirates had on the Phazon at the time, they implanted a much greater portion then needed on the Phazon Elites causing them to have much shorter lifespan and having errors on many part of their bodies.

In Super Metroid, they're found just prior to fighting Ridley in the lower area of Norfair in a corridor with monitor devices hanging from the ceiling. Aside from using various punches and kicks as well as flying kicks that they're most known for, they mainly prefer to jump around randomly at high speed and throw boomerang-like projectiles at the opponent. They're nearly impervious to all of Samus' arsenal, and can only be damaged when they're resting for a short time, and can only be killed from behind, or when their body temporarily changes color to gold when doing a flying jump kick.

In this game, they appear in vaerious parts of the Space Pirate Mother Ship, and on every difficulty level easy, medium, hard , 2 of them have to be killed for the player to escape. Regardless of being easier to damage in Zero Mission than in Super Metroid, they still take a lot of fire-power to destroy, and can be especially hard to deal with when doing a run-through on hard mode with 15 percent or less. Dark Pirate Commandoes have been specifically chosen by Hunter Ing to be possessed, as the Commandoes are the quintessential pirate class.

In fact, no other Ing in the Ing hierarchy is allowed to possess the Commandoes. The Hunter Ing bring the ability to phase out of time-space with them when they possess the Commandoes. The Pirates keep the same arsenal they had before they were possessed: Because of their ability to attack then phase out of local time-space, they are a much more brutal and effective adversary.

The Dark Pirate Commandoes tend to attack in groups, usually consisting of three pirates. Before Samus can uninterruptedly track and attack the Dark Pirates, she will have to get the Dark Visor.

Game s - Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Because Samus poses a serious threat to the Space Pirates, the Space Pirates created a division of pirates dedicated to hunting her down. These are the Pirate Commandoes. The weaponry they possess allows them to be effective no matter how they choose to fight.

The energy scythes are effective at fighting in close quarters; whereas the EMP Grenades distort Samus' vision, allowing them to more easily target and hit her with their Variable Pulse Cannons.

Not only are they versatile with their weaponry, but they also have jetpacks that allow them to travel over any environment speedily. The Dark Pirate Trooper is darkling possessed pirate trooper. When the Space pirates first landed on the planet Aether looking for phazon, they found themselves in a war between dark and light. The Ing, residents of the dark world, found that pirate troopers made an excellent target for possession because they were already trained to blindly follow orders, not to mention their weapon systems and agility in combat.

When Ing possessed, the pirate trooper would only gain more stamina and change their appearance by a little. The pirate high command never understood the Ing and also could understand the sudden spike in friendly fire incidents. The pirate trooper was a favorite possession target for Ing, second only to the Pirate Commando.

The pirate elemental or beam troopers were deployed to counter the assaults of bounty hunter Samus Aran. By reverse-engineering her chozo designed beams the pirates hoped for a way to finally take down the hunter then, use them against the Galactic Federation. The are four types of elemental troopers: Power trooper, Wave trooper, Ice trooper, Plasma trooper. Each of the trooper types carried their respective beams and had armor suit that seemed to be tied in with them.

However, this was the deadly flaw of the beam troopers. Their armor suits were colored according to their beams Wave troopers were purple, Power troopers were yellow, Ice troopers were white and Plasma troopers were red. Their armor suit were susceptible only to the beams that that trooper carried, but since they were pretty much color coded, The Hunter could easily tell them apart and use the correct beam to kill them.

The Power troopers could be killed with one super missile and the Ice Troopers could be frozen by a charged Ice beam shot and shattered by a missile. The elemental troopers inability to stop The Hunter on Tallon IV eventually led to their downfall and it appears that they have been phased out. The Aqua pirate was an experimental prototype of a flying pirate design. Using technology similar to that of the chozo-designed gravity suit, the aqua pirate moves underwater as if it was flying in the air.

However the missiles the aqua pirate uses appear to be unchanged form the flying pirate for they are impeded by the water and thus easier to dodge. Another thing the carries over from the flying pirate is the ability to track the unit using a thermal sensor due to the booster pack.

It is unclear how many aqua pirate units were deployed but their ability to patrol waters around pirate bases is a large advantage. A Pirate Aerotrooper, also known as a Flying Pirate, is simply an air-made variety of the sentient aggressor species that appear throughout the galaxy of the Metroid universe. They're usually assigned to the most dangerous missions, and have proven their loyalty by choosing to die, rather than surrender to the enemy's cause this is hinted by them attempting swirling suicide attacks, hoping to take the opponent with them.

It's also hinted in one of the Pirate Logs that they prefer death before dishonor. It's all part of their code.

They use jetpacks that can be easily seen through the Thermal Visor and can be set on fire by the Light or Plasma Beams. They're also equipped with Missile Launchers, which can fire multiple missiles at the same time that lock onto the target. In terms of appearance, the only difference between them and regular Pirates aside from having jetpacks and Missile Launchers is their lighter green skin.

The space pirate trooper is the standard pirate offensive and defensive unit. Utilizing a light armor suit, Galvanic Accelerator Cannons, and an energy scythe for close ranged melee attacks; the pirate trooper is a very dangerous opponent to a lightly armed enemy. Due to the Space Pirates pushes into the military, there are many of these troopers available to pirate command.

They are treated as pawns to the space pirate high command and losses are disregarded as long as the job is done. The Pirate trooper is also agile in combat as it can jump long disatances and cling to walls. It is estimated that a force of these troopers is an even match for the Galatic Federation Marines and they can sometimes get the better of the Federation troopers. However, against stronger targets, like members of the Federation Bounty Hunters Program, the pirate troopers are little more than cannon fodder.

Shadow Pirates are a specially chosen group of regular Space Pirates trained for missions that require perfect stealth. Because the cloaking devices they utilize use a large amount of energy, they are relegated to only using melee weapons. Despite not being able to use ranged weapons for different reasons, the melee weapons that they are required to use lend themselves well to their stealth missions.

The cloaking technology they use is somewhat imperfect, however, and a silhouette of the Pirates can be seen. Unlike their Beam Pirate brethren, the Shadow Pirates don't have a resistance to any of Samus' weaponry. Since they are more vulnerable, they are, if spotted, more easily defeated. Little more than four Plasma Beam shots will burn them to their deaths. Shadow Pirates are only found in the group on Tallon IV. There regions they are in are the Phendrana Drifts and Phazon Mines. Sometimes, Shadow Pirates will travel in groups to enhance their lethality.

This tactic works well, and they can easily remove substantial if Samus doesn't kill them fast. Echoes, Metroid Prime 3: Zero Mission Space Pirates are some of the villains in the Metroid universe. In addition to their piracy, they are directly responsible for Samus' parents deaths, as well as the death of countless others.

Their scientific machinations leave no room for personal feelings or moral considerations, and they will use even their own kind to perpetuate their experiments. The Space Pirates attempt to become dominant over all other races. The impressive technology they possess enables them to dominate more than if they hadn't had it. Space Pirates do not care about anything but achieving these goals, and they don't seem to mind losing several of their own kind to reach the results they seek.

Phazon and Metroids are two notable experiments that have ultimately ended in disaster for the pirates. The former, while leading to increased stamina and resistance for the test subjects, led to dependence upon Phazon and the loss of the ability to control the test subjects. The Metroids that the pirates managed to capture would turn on their handlers if given even but a small chance. Is there anything cool about this thing? Despite some of the Space Pirates failed science experiments, they have made notable advancements in several areas.

During the events on Tallon IV, one area of note that the pirates managed to succeed in is the reverse engineering of several of Samus' weapons: Select pirates were fitted with armor that had the ability to stop fire from all weapons but one, which the pirates were susceptible to. During other missions, especially the missions on Zebes, they lack the scythe, but maintain what appears to be the Galvanic Acceletor Cannon.

Without any special armor or cloaking, Pirates are particularly vulnerable. One shot with a Plasma Beam is usually enough to doom them.

K-2L is a planet deep within the galactic core, and was one of the first planets every colonized by the Federation. Soon after the Federations formation, they went on several expeditions to deeper space, finding and claiming new planets to add to Federation property.

Furthermore, the planet served another function; due to its positioning, it allowed easy access to neighboring planets, so it became a colony and an outpost for various starships. What made K-2L so important though was the mineral, Afloralite. This crystal was a tremendous source of power, and served as a means to power Federation ships.

K2-L as a result became a mining world as well. Afloralite is also what spelled doom for the denizens of K-2L. The planet was a very peaceful, mild planet. Plains and grasslands spread across its surface, and a large canyon existed far to the north, caused from rivers eroding the stone. However, these environments were left untouched by the Federation, and they instead focused on the Afloralite crystals. Life on K-2L is very mild, and most animals are very peaceful, save a small selection of predatory animals.

Sadly, most were killed during the Space Pirate invasion as they sought to steal Afloralite. Game s - Metroid Fusion Name: Biological Science Labs Location: Regulated through advanced ventilation systems used to accommidate the many different species and experiments within the station.

Six-sector biologic lab containment units within the planetoid designed to recreate specific ecosystems. It became clear to the Galactic Federation that after the origins of the Metroid species were linked to the planet SR, to make sure the planet was closely studied. It was decreed that a orbiting space station would be the best way to accomplish this.

The Galactic Federation ultimately decided to use gravity technology to capture an asteroid from a nearby asteroid belt, and workers and laborers swiftly began the process of creating the station. The Federation meticulously planned out the B.

L, designing six Sectors that would fit the specific requirements of the plethora of creatures brought to the B. To contain all of the future specimens, the station was enormous.

After building ended, the B. L was equipped with a crew, and sent to SR, where specimen retrievals began. The station is a very diverse location. However, gravity is the same everywhere, to allow the personnel easy access to all sectors.

The various sectors are: SRX - A rocky, vegetation filled sector designed to portray a general view of the planet. L, and tropical creatures are stored here.

Many plants line this area, and it is a humid environment. Therefore, fire-based creatures reside here. AQA - The aquatic portion of the station. Marine life exists here, and most importantly, the super-sonic Serris creature. ARC - The arctic sector, specimens that naturally live in cold environments can find a home here. This is also where the war-machine, Nightmare, was stored. NOC - The Nocturnal area is where all the creatures of the night can dwell in peace.

All life on the B. L are of the same species; the X Parasites. After the X broke free from their stasis tanks, they systematically infected every natural creature on the station killing them all and imitating them. Before this though, a variety of creatures from SR dwelled here. L no longer exists, as it was jettisoned into SR in order to quell the X threat, and both it and the planet were vaporized.

Acidic lakes, constant earthquakes and Volcanic activity. Named after the solar system it was found, SR is the only planet in its system.

Discovered by Survey Team Mika Wolf, it has been overlooked on previous star charts and is way too far off of the trade routes to even have been considered for survey during the old expansion days of early space ferriers.

Being in a very remote sector of space, if something were to stay hidden, this sector would be the ideal place for it.

Gamma radiation constantly pounds the surface, making it difficult for almost any form of life to inhabit the planet's surface. From an orbital view, not even the slightest trace of land can be seen, for the tons of acidic clouds make visibility up to about feet off the ground impossible. Because of this, the planet would make a good smuggler's hideout, except for the air being poisonous, and that each breath inhaled is filled with acidic compounds and sulfuric trace gases.

Since the planet was once inhabited by the Chozo like most other planets in the Metroid universe, it's safe to assume that the Chozo created most if not all of the underground complex. The humidity of the planet is extremely high, as is the overall temperature. This makes further exploration of the planet's inner depths practically impossible as well in fact, the mere thought of being trapped miles beneath the deadly planet is too much of a risk on any survey team's mind to risk in the name of science.

It also has Sulfur Concentrate in high pockets above the atmosphere. The planet no longer exists to this day, however. In the events of Metroid Fusion latest game in the timeline , Samus escapes from the X-Parasite over-run science facility known as the B. Research Station, and has it crash into SR, thus causing the station and the planet itself to explode upon impact. In the intro of Super Metroid among other things, SR is said to be the home world or origin for the species that this series is based around, known as Metroids, which were originally created by the Chozo to feed on X-Parasites, thus preventing the X from devouring all forms of life.

Although the Metroids seemed to fulfill their purpose quite efficiently as hinted by there being no X-Parasites in Metroid II: Return of Samus , the X still somehow managed to return in Metroid Fusion which were apparently sent to SR by a currently unknown source , and with the last known remaining Metroid being obliterated by Mother Brain, Samus was the last, best hope for the Federation, as she was injected with Metroid DNA to cure her of her X-Parasite infection, and making her able to absorb any she comes across.

Although Metroids are easily the top of the food chain in the ecosystems of SR, there still exists a delicate balance between predator and prey among them. Creatures there evolve and adapt in ways that reflect the planet itself, for just as the planet SR is unforgiving in itself, the creatures that live here are no exception. They apparently have been able to adapt to the acidity in the air and not only have they survived, but flourished in great swarm numbers.

Aside from Metroids, a certain number of mechanical machines have been noted moving about the corridors of the planet as well, but by who they were put there by, and what they were guarding remains a mystery, though they could've been other creations of the Chozo. The remains of a strange civilization on the planet have also been found, indicating that there was once a strong civilization there assumably by the Chozo , but to this day, no live specimens of such have been found.

Zero Mission, Super Metroid Name: Massive hollow crust going miles into the surface due to Urthic ore which is primary compound found. Underground seas as well. How it was formed- Unknown. Size- Has a mass of 4. How the planet was discovered by the Galactic Federation is a strange story. Far from the galactic trade routes, Zebes was found by accident. Many data files claim it was first found by a freighter pilot named Hakro Zebeth when he stumbled far off the trade routes and discovered a rather large planet not indicated on any previous navigational charts.

Both lost and at the whim of Zebes, Zebeth sent out distress signals into the depths of space, hoping for someone to answer his signals. Zebeth's incident is also not the only one, for many space ferriers have never been heard from again after visiting Zebes presumably killed by Space Pirates.

The outside portion is constantly deludged by heavy acid rain. Because of that, few creatures live there, and plant life is limited to only moss and small grass.

The inside portion the caves, which may have been created by the constant torrent of acid rain connects to Tourian the main Space Pirate base on the planet, which is guarded by Mother Brain , and is inhabited by creatures such as Zoomers, and in other areas, K-Hunters, flying allies of the Space Pirates that glide with their wings through the air.

Some Chozo statues are also shown in the caves portion of Crateria, hinting that Chozodia wasn't the only portion of Zebes which they once lived in. In a sense, Brainstar is the one thing in the games at least the ones that have Zebes in it that gives players a full feeling of the game.

Easily one of the largest areas in Zebes, which houses more than 60 percent of the planet's wildlife. Hundreds of creatures and strange animal life reside there. Because of that, many have come to the conclusion that the plants there only need water, and that the majority are carnivorous, as hinted by the foliage in the lower portion of Brainstar. Brainstar's also famous for a few of its music soundtracks, for the theme of the original NES incarnation of Brainstar was arguably the best known Metroid song of all and hs been remade several times for other Metroid titles including the Prime series and the Super Smash Brothers series.

The track used in the green jungle area was remade as the default BGM for the multiplayer mode in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and a remix of the caves portion of Brainstar Super Metroid was used in the underwater pumping station of Torvus Bog in Echoes.

Kraid- A moist area teeming with flora and small animal life, and as the name of the area implies, is a synthetic habitat for the giant lizard Kraid presumably constructed by the Space Pirates like they did with Ridley's area in lower Norfair. Wrecked Ship- An ancient ship that crashed into Crateria and is now flooded. It is home to Phantoon, the ghost-like Pirate leader in Super Metroid. The ship itself is mostly submerged in water, and when Samus first arrives, the electricity wasn't functioning because of that, but after defeating Phantoon, the power was restored.

The manual of the game claims the ship had been in possession of astronauts from an ancient civilization. The astronauts may have crashed before or during the time when the Chozo were inhabiting the planet, as evident by the Chozo Statues inside the ship. In Zero Mission, it becomes clear that the Space Pirate Mothership was destroyed on Zebes after Samus defeated Mecha Ridley in it, but director Yoshio Sakamoto dismissed that possibility, stating the 2 ships are different, and that during Zero Mission, the player passes through an area that appears to be outside the Super Metroid wrecked ship in Crateria, whilst the Mother Ship has not yet landed.

The inhabitants of the Wrecked Ship include Covern dead spirits of the crew of the ship and Workbots, which are also shown in the Pirate Mothership in Zero Mission. It's the main temple on the planet Zebes, and presumably the main place of ritual by the Chozo.

After the Space Pirates attacked the planet thus becoming known as Zebesian Space Pirates , Chozodia was left in ruins and not examined by any sentient beings for a long time. When Samus returned to the planet to destroy Mother Brain, Chozodia was explored by her.

It was also used as the landing spot for the Space Pirate Mothership, which only appeared in Zero Mission. It is also where Samus acquires the Power Grip, and the Fully Powered Suit which she has to acquire from the ghost of a Chozo Guardian after her Power Suit's destroyed, as a result of her ship being shot down by the Pirates shortly after Mother Brain's destruction.

Maridia- The water-flooded caves of Zebes. Space Pirate lab compounds are situated in the area, and includes the result of failed attempts at cloning Metroids, known as Mochtroids which only have 1 nucleus, whereas normal Metroids have 4. The place also houses the lobster-like Pirate leader known as Draygon, and is by far the largest area in Super Metroid Brainstar being the 2nd largest.

The place itself is basically one giant maze with water flowing in all directions that feeds on the land, which causes the ground to sometimes liquify in some areas, forming quick-sand traps leading deeper into the planet. While the Varia Suit is required to even be able to step foot in Norfair as a result of the extremely potent heat generated by the magma being able to melt even the most resilient of metals, including the armor of Samus' Power Suit , the Gravity Suit is also required to be able to jump into the magma without taking damage.

The place itself is divided into 2 sections. The upper section being the hot lava area, and the lower section being the ancient ruins area, which underneath the heat and fire, is yet another ancient Chozo civilization. While easily being the hottest area of Zebes, some parts of it are still jungle like Brainstar, where the insect-like Imago lurks. Like Brainstar, Norfair also has one of the most famous music pieces in the history of Metroid, for the lower Norfair theme in Super Metroid is re-used for the Magmoor Caverns in Metroid Prime.

Ridley- Easily the most depressing, hot, and dangerous place in all of Zebes. A main part of it appears to be a Metroid lab most likely involving cloning , and is home to the biological computer whose head of security of Tourian, known as Mother Brain. Its inhabitants include Rinkas, Zebetites mechanical walls that guard the Mother Brain's lair, which require concussive weapons to destroy , and In Super Metroid, the lower portion of Tourian includes a few extra rooms with sand-like floors.

All of which had their energy drained by the infant Metroid that Samus delivered to the Ceres station and was stolen by Ridley, who grows ever larger in the process. As far as the music of the area goes, the simple melody's the same in all the games Tourian's in a constant bubbling sound effect, along with a mechanical hum every few seconds, followed by a growling sound, which is presumably Mother Brain's , but unlike Brainstar's and Norfair's themes, Tourian's theme has not been re-used or remixed in any Metroid or spinoff game made to date.

Samus has destroyed the place twice. After the first time, a small part of Zebes is destroyed, and the ruins of it are present at the end of Zero Mission and the beginning of Super Metroid, as part of Crateria. The second time Tourian is destroyed however along with Mother Brain , causes a chain reaction, and a self-destruct sequence, causing the apocalypse of Zebes.

After Super Metroid, Zebes itself is no more as a result. Aside from the Zebesian Space Pirates and all the small creatures mentioned who inhabit each different section of the planet, other lifeforms that are non-hostile are included but limited to A green ostrich-like creature.

It was first encountered in Super Metroid in Brainstar under one of those Speed Booster blocks, which an egg in a nest can be seen in the area. It teaches Samus how to use the shinespark technique, and the player has the option of rescuing it in the room where the first Torizo was fought at the very end of the game, which results in a slightly different ending.

A mixture of a monkey and koala. Like Dachoras, these too are first featured in Super Metroid in Brainstar. They teach Samus how to do the wall-jump technique. Aside from the non-hostiles, there's also the Ki-Hunters also called Keyhunters , which as mentioned before, are allied with the Space Pirates, but they're also referred to as Pirates from another galactic system who helped rebuild the fortress on Zebes after Samus obliterated it on their first mission there.

They're flying insects that closely resemble wasps or praying mantises with 4 limbs and a set of wings, which attack with their claws by swooping down from above. They can also spit highly corrosive acid at targets. Unlike Etecoons and Dachoras, Ki-Hunters are found in pretty much all environments in Zebes, and come in several different colors, like the Zebesian Space Pirates, and the color schemes are always very close to that of the environment.

Other than all those, there's basically animals made entirely of molten rock, small flying creatures that generate their own light as also shown in the Chozo Ruins of Tallon IV , and like Tallon IV, although the remains of the Chozo civilization have been found on Zebes, no live specimen of that civilization has been found to this day. Game s - Super Metroid Name: Space Colony Ceres Location: Sola Sector of Space Discovery Date: Titan Class Space Vessel Size: Regulated through advanced ventilation systems used to accommodate the many different species of scientist inhabitating the facility.

Ultra thick hull used to withstand nearby asteroids from the nearby Myloi Asteroid belt. Named after the asteroid Ceres which also inhabits the same asteroid belt, the Ceres Space Station was found in hopes that it would serve as a deep space outpost for galactic civilization to further gather information about the unknown parts of the galaxy in that sector of space.

Construction was a bit difficult, due to all the asteroid activity in the area, but in the end, it proved of no consequence. Its main purpose was to allow scientists of all species the chance to contribute for the benefit of civilization through the use of science and technology, as well as to allow them to all live in harmony with one another.

Ceres Space Colony is where Super Metroid begins. It's a Space Station by the Galactic Fedration that's used for containing and studying Metroids and other lifeforms.

After taking the infant Metroid aboard her gunship, Samus brings it to Ceres for it to be researched. As Samus leaves, a distress signal beacons her to come back to Ceres. She arrives back to find it all dark with dead bodies lying around. She progresses through the colony and comes across Ridley, whose holding the infant Metroid in its talons.

Samus and Ridley battle, though Ridley flees with the Metroid at the last minute, causing a self-destruction countdown to begin. Samus escapes intact, with Ceres exploding in her wake, as she follows Ridley to Zebes. This is a diagram of the insides of the station. It was built to withstand massive impacts such as asteroid and meteor collisions from the nearby asteroid belt of Myloi.

Its main docking bay spreads down to facilitate 60 or more ships at a time with a 24 standard hour crew attendance to maintain all ships. The upper levels are used to house and facilitate the many different laboratories of as many as 80 different species of scientists and crew members aboard.

The lower levels of the station are where any restricted or dangerous experiments are conducted. These areas also house the engine areas, supporting the gravity wells. In order to maintain balance and gravity within the station, Ghor Mach 2 Gravity wells were carefully placed during construction. They are run of the power generated by the two JCC Hypercore Power Generators located at the bowels of the station. These generators are self-replenishing, and have enough power to run the station for the next two millennium, although skilled maintenance is required on both to keep them in running condition.

Ceres is a human made Space Station. Other then the humans and scientist living in it, there's really no life whatsoever in it. Origin of the Name The only reason I brought this up was to show the reasons the planet was called Aether. This was extremely interesting. About two years ago while searching for info on how to beat Quadraxis, I came across this article. It seems that Retro had heard of this theory, and used "Luminiferous" for Luminoth, and Aether, for Aether.

When the Luminoth first arrived, everything was peaceful. Aether has no sun, so for light, the Luminoth used an extremely powerful energy source that they called "The Light of Aether.

A Leviathan from Phaaze struck the planet. Many of the beautiful and lush areas of Aether had been turned into rubble or warped in form. Not only did it deface Aether, but it split it in two: Light Aether, and the grotesque Dark Aether. Light Aether was under control of the Luminoth, but Dark Aether had a new life form springing from the depths.

The murderous creatures known as the Ing. In retaliation, the Luminoth began to develop new technologies such as the Light Beam, the Dark Beam, the Annihilator Beam, the Light Crystals, World Portals, the light and the dark suits, and other light technologies that kept them safe from the harmful atmosphere of Dark Aether.

Eventually, the Ing grew too persistent, and the Luminoth were about to be eliminated. In a last hope, the Luminoth put themselves in frozen animation chambers, where they waited for a miracle. The current protector of the Luminoth, Umos, waited for a savior, a miracle, anything to save them from their terrible crisis.

Eventually, Samus Aran came to the planet Aether, and after a long process, saved the inhabitants of Aether, and wiped out the Ing. And a bonus to the phazon, the Space Pirates picked up a hitchhiker known as Dark Samus.

Aether is still active and lies in the Dasha Region of space. The atmosphere is an extremely volatile one. Due to the surrounding Dark Aether, it is split into a purple-ish and green like area, and caustic surroundings. Aether was a perfect home for the Luminoth. Relatively uninhabited, and a beautiful planet. But, it was turned into a terrible wasteland, and then restored by Samus Aran. The many areas of Aether include This was basically the overworld for Aether.

It was the area that led to most of the other areas, and gave Samus the Space Jump later in the game. The Great Temple is where the last living Luminoth reside, protected by the temple guard, Umos. The once beautiful Agon Valley was devasted from the impact of the Leviathan.

This area now holds most of the Space Pirate activity. The thick forest area of Aether has been turned into a massive bog, one area covered in muck, the other a flooded temple. A massive fortress that housed most of the Luminoth population. During the Ing attack, the Luminoth disabled all of their protective machines including Quadraxis in order to prevent them from being possessed by the Ing.

This area is generally the same, except for one thing: The waters in DTB have become highly poisonous, and the Ing gather at an alarming rate. The Dark version of Sanctuary Fortress, Quadraxis is its defender. The last zone of the game, the Sky Temple. In order to enter this huge Ing domain, you must collect nine keys throughout the land. Once inside, you meet the huge and wrathful leader of the Ing infestation.

The main races of Aether are the kind and wise Luminoth, and the evil and rampant Ing. The Luminoth are a species very similar to the Chozo, both technologically and somewhat physically.

The Luminoth were not born on Aether, but traveled and settled there during their prime. Once there, peace reigned for many years. Their mechanical exploits were stupendous. The Light and Dark beams and suits were developed, the hundreds of mechanical body-guards, and their ingenuity with their light-energy-source.

They were a powerful and caring race, always out-doing themselves. They appeared when the meteorite of Phazon crashed into Aether. Once Dark Aether was formed, the Ing thrived and soon defeated the Luminoth. Before the Ing are hateful aggressive creatures, they are small larvae that live in huge swarms mainly inside the Sky Temple.

Some Ing however are the "drones" of the Ing Horde, that work for the Emperor. The Emperor itself is a huge, lumbering beast that looks similar to a Warrior Ing. The Ing have a special talent, which is possessing other life-forms. In many areas of Light Aether, creatures are possessed and their abilities enhanced. A prime example no pun intended would be the Space Pirates. The dark space pirate commandos proved to Samus a gargantuan threat.

Then there are the smaller and less dominant creatures of Aether. They include Grenchlers, the infamous War Wasps, Shriekers, and much much more. Almost half of those creatures have Dark Counterparts. Game s - Metroid Prime Mentioned only Name: Darunia Sector Discovery Date: Deadly strain of Gryoxis Calcintain inhabiting both worlds. Off limits to all actions outside of approved Federation approval.

Ever since its discovery, Twin Tabula remains one of the most mysterious planets of all times due to its odd formation, having both planets so close to each other is definitely something unfamiliar in the cosmos. Some believe that during the planet's formation, a huge piece if molten core was ejected from the main mass, forming a small satellite around the planetoid, as if it were a moon, but much bigger having lots of similarities to each other.

The smaller planet is known as Tabuloo while the larger is known as Tabulai, each planet is so close to each other that their atmospheres actually scrape each other creating great storm and weather distortions on each planet. The planets were named "Twin Tabula" as a whole and was colonized by the Federation Colonial Ministry and used as a base for scientific research.

The colonial scientists were surprised by the planet formation, it was so unusual that it lead some scientist to investigate how it all happened. Because of the distorted weather, many other natural oddities were created and found only in Twin Tabula. Some scientists managed to find that the gravitational pull of the planets caused many of the plant and animal species to grow double their normal size in half of their lifespan, however, this lifespan was much shorter then the ordinary species in other planets.

Right when it seemed that the Galactic Federation thought they had made huge discoveries, Twin Tabula's greatest secret was yet to be found, the Twin Fever. All of the Galactic Federation troopers who had set foot on the planet became a victim to an unknown deseased given by the planet's atmosphere, they called it the "Twin Fever".

The symptoms of this illness included headaches, vision impurities and irritation. Before finding a cure to the illness, the worst was yet to come. The speed of dehydration doubled, extreme flashes of hot and cold, and cramping of the joints.

Some of its symptoms seemed to be ceaseless, although the double vision seemed to have stop, but when it did, most of its victims were already agonizing or totally incapacitated. After many studies by the Federation Science Ministry, it was found that the disease was carries by a viral strain known as "Gyroxis Calcintain".

This strain was the responsible for doubling the size of most living creatures on the planet as well as cutting its lifespan. The Federation canceled all of its future plans concerning Twin Tabula and quarantined the planet for safety precaution.

The event on these planets didn't go unheard as the Space Pirates seem to have taken an interest on Twin Tabula. It is unknown what the have in plans for the planets, however, the Galactic Federation is keeping a close eye on the Space Pirates and their actions. Both Tabulai and Tabuloo are mostly deserted and lifeless. Huge oceans of chlorine and other trace materials can be found in the surface of Tabuloo.

Tabulai however, many barren plains of exposed rock could be found jutting massively into the sky. Could this have any connection on how the planet was created? Aside from the Gyroxis Calcintain, the number of organism beyond the cellular level is very low. Because of the distortion in its atmosphere, life has not had the time to advance as dar as in other planets with stable weather. The Galactic Federation discoveries were having success and making progress finding several structural forms of life, however, because of the horrible illness they were forced to abandon all plans to research farther.

Jenithao Sector Discovery Date: Nitrogen, Oxygen, Hydrogen Traces. Rapid planetary degrigation induced by a nuclear chain reaction has rendered the planet inhospitable. This alliance was not entirely successful as many of the Dhutal were familiarized with the Space Pirates, who they had thought to be the strongest alien race in the universe.

Several years later, the entire planet accepted the treaty of peace by the Galactic Federation. The Space Pirates watching the overcome of the Dhutal's actions, felt betrayed and sent several war frigates to orbit Ooromine II.

The Galactic Federation troopers managed to infiltrate many of the Space Pirates' bases in the planet. The fate of the planet was decided and destruction expanded on all of the planet's regions. The outcome of the explosives was destructive, but not enough to destroy the planet's prosperity as a whole.

The Space Pirates were reserving a special and powerful nuclear bomb for emergency situations, the called this the "Flatline". This was a single unit bomb interlaces in a honeycomb of several nuclear casings. Even though the bomb was untested, they felt the need to put it to use due to the current situation going on in Ooromine II. The flatlines were limited in numbers and all were sent to detonate in Ooromine II. The Galactic Federation infiltrated some of the Space Pirate frigates and managed to deactivate some of these units, however, more of them were on the way and detonated in the planet.

The impact was so huge that it changed the environment and weather with a single hit. Black clouds of destruction covered the planet within minutes, the planet became deserted and fell into the Space Pirates' hands.

Ooromine II was known widely for its great humid resources. It was a planet rich in water and the weather was mostly rainy creating many seas. The Dhutal used these resources to their advantages and created many sprawling cities and industrial areas. They were able to trade many of their goods with other planets.

Its many forests were many humid containing many different kinds of animals. Life was very abundant and seemed ceaseless. The Dhutal were very pleased with the atmosphere of their planet. It is unknown if the Dhutal became an extinct specie.

Galan Sector Discovery Date: Carbon Dioxide, Methane, Oxygen, Hydrogen trace gasses. Plantwide occupation of Miteralis Miteralis Napius has expired all life on the planet. The planet Bilium used to be a peacul planet located within the Galan Sector. While the sector itself was very remote, the planet itself had a good commercial business, these included trading goods with neighbor worlds.

Bilium was inhabited by a race known as the Bilian, a peaceful race known for its great terraforming technology and inventions, those similar to the Chozo's. However, it was this great technology that would lead to their downfall.
