Depending on experience, the roles and responsibilities would vary as follows: Oversee a portfolio of rapidly growing investments: Current portfolio of projects includes: Hybrid Seed Promotion Program Description: Improved seed is a proven technology that can generate significant increases in yield and farm profit, with minimal behavior change and financial investment required.
A small minority of farm families, however, take advantage of this technology. Increasing adoption of improved seed by the millions of smallholder farmers in targeted countries could generate billions of dollars in impact. We drive adoption through a large-scale field campaign and coordination with a large network of agrodealers. We want to streamline execution and performance management to make the program ultra-scalable to grow to serve hundreds of thousands of families in Tanzania in the coming years.
We also want to scout investments in other markets to reach far more farm families in the next years. Malawi Farmer Extension Description: We partner with the Malawi government extension service to provide last-mile farmer training services at scale. Our village training agents are the final step in helping farmers adopt yield-improving practices.
We hope to grow this investment to serve overfarm families in the next year and to continue to innovate to generate more impact for each family we serve. Explore additional interventions that we can deliver through the extension channel such as tree planting and compost promotion; increase impact through honing field operations performance management; trial opportunities to sell seed and fertilizer to farmers alongside the training model, and more.
Energy is changing in a big way across the continent - the development of low cost solar products is creating new opportunities for rural families. The Impact Venture team is investing in a team dedicated to scaling sales of solar products.
We have an early stage pilot in Tanzania which we hope to rapidly expand in the coming years. The number one goal now is to build an extremely effective rural sales force. Impact Ventures Strategic Leadership: Serve as a key leader on the Impact Venture team, contributing to global strategy, including which projects to launch, what to scale, when to pivot, and when to close.
