I have already tried the following: They don't which is my fault for not registering it in the first place. This would be too expensive since it would be a housecall for them.
The model used here is about 8 years old and requires significat torque to unlock. This solution is sunk by the myriad of logistical issues around dealing with the building staff to get this to happen.

Those with an extended lock can be removed by using a crow bar or pipe which fits over the end of the lock to bend the locking mechanism, which disables it.
